Born to Garn nobility during the empire's decline, Kaida's exceptional magical talents became currency when her father repeatedly tried to trade her to more powerful houses for protection. After her family's fall during Garn's collapse, she sought validation at the Lucid Temple, where Selenthrall initially praised her abilities. When she discovered the Temple's connection to Nethermaw corruption, she fled to pursue forbidden Zendorean knowledge independently. Her cold exterior and academic approach to magic mask deep insecurity - she takes unnecessary risks to prove she's more than the decorative pawn her father tried to make her. Her relationship with Tarik began during their time at the Temple, where his charm briefly pierced her defensive walls.
